Abstract An open instrumental analysis experiment was designed. The contents included preparation of magnetic zeolites, adsorption of phenolic antioxidants, and detection of phenolic antioxidants in beverages coupled with high performance liquid chromatography. This experiment integrated the basic knowledge of inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and instrumental analysis. It benefitted to improve the students' practical ability as well as the ability to analyze and solve problems. In addition, through this open experiment, the utilization rate of instruments was improved, and the function of existing resources in the laboratory was given full play.
