Abstract Using CiteSpace visual bibliometric analysis software, this paper analyzed the competency-based chemistry classroom teaching designs from the three most influential academic journals(Chinese Journal of Chemical Education,Education In Chemistry,Teaching and Learning Reference for Middle School Chemistry) in the field of chemistry education and teaching in China since 2016, which aim was to provide a useful reference for the follow-up competency-based chemistry classroom teaching design by grasping the research hotspots and development trends.
