Show Abstract ( 53 )
After studying the relevant requirements in the new curriculum standards, and analyzing the types and presentation methods of situational materials in the compulsory textbooks of Luke edition, we can draw the following conclusions: micro-projects make the practical situation produce a marked effect, historical situations manifest our Chinese self-confidence, and those situational materials fully reflect the STSE education concept. Based on this study, three teaching suggestions are proposed for the sake of turning from static textbook situation to dynamic teaching situation: to give full attention to the contextual teaching function contained in the textbook columns; to explore deeply the core literacy carried by the textbook contextual materials; and to take the overall design choices to teach and present situational material into consideration.

Show Abstract ( 36 )
The evaluation of chemical experiments is of great significance for cultivating students' innovative consciousness and practical ability. The study attempted to design “teaching-learning-assessment activity” to prompt students' chemistry learning and develop experimental ability by applying the chemistry school-based assessment of high school in Hong Kong. The study first introduced the framework and guidelines of the chemistry school-based assessment of high school in Hong Kong. Then, by referring to 2017 curriculum standards, the experimental evaluation scale was designed with the example of “ferric salt and ferrous salt” in Chemistry 1 (PEP Ed., based on 2003 curriculum standards). Through evaluation feedback, a more scientific and comprehensive diagnosis and evaluation of students' experimental ability performance is made, and then provides an improved basis for teachers' chemistry teaching practice.

The core literacy oriented proposition framework emphasizes that both situation and knowledge contribute to problem raising and solving. By creating complex task situations and using problem-based learning, we guide students acquire procedural and epistemic knowledge independently in the process of applying content knowledge to solve real problems, cultivate the overall understanding of the discipline, form strict knowledge structure system and thinking logic, develop “evidence reasoning and model cognition, changing concepts and balanced thoughts”.

The aim of this research was to explore the effect of the pithy formulas-oriented teaching method on students' ability to analyze redox reactions in the teaching of redox reaction in senior one. The analytical ability includes the extent and speed of analysis for the simple redox reactions and the depth of analysis for the redox reactions with different complexities. The results showed that the pithy formula-oriented teaching method had a good immediate effect and retention effect on the formation and development of students' analytical ability in the experimental group. Students in both experimental and control groups improved their analytical ability significantly in the teaching process, representing a different process of ability development. Some suggestions on teaching and research were given.

This study uses (1)O2/CO2(2)Cl2/NH3 that are required to master the gas preparation and properties and important intermediate gases(3)C2H4/SO2 that are not required to master the gas preparation as the three levels of advanced inspection to test 156 high school students in Beijing's model high school. The results shows that the depth and the systematism of the students' knowledge reserves are not good, especially in the process of gas purification and collection; students have difficulty in extracting external information effectively and their ability of chemical reading needs to be improved;the three levels of advanced level is obvious, from easy to difficult, the lower level as the important foundation of the higher level. Based on this, this research puts forward corresponding teaching strategies.

To further improve the precision and generality of the detection of iron content in iron supplements by image colorimetry, the influence of shooting environment on the results was investigated, the quantitative parameter suitable for image colorimetry was confirmed, and the colorimetric results with solutions in different containers were compared. The content of actual samples and the recovery were measured under the optimal conditions. The results showed that the key to obtaining reliable data was collecting a single image of samples, standards, and blanks. It presented the best linear relationship between the absorbance values converted from the R values of the solutions and the concentration. Analysis of the images of these solutions in cuvettes, test tubes and drip board produced data that were suitable for quantitative colorimetric analysis. The recovery for this method was >95%. With the characteristics of easy operation and accurate, the method could be widely used in high school chemistry laboratory with various conditions.

Show Abstract ( 41 )
After years of experimental exploration, it was found that the interesting chemical experiment “ignited into a snake” could be done without catalyst, and the experimental result was obtained by burning a mixture of sucrose and sodium bicarbonate directly. The “catalyst” only as an adsorbent for the concentrated heating of the reactants, which made the experimental phenomena more obvious, however, there was no “catalytic” effect on the chemical reaction. Therefore, it is recommended that ordinary laboratories use sand or fine loess to carry out this experiment on the base of the iron stand.

Show Abstract ( 58 )
In order to reduce the ambient temperature and oxygen concentration, an instrument was designed to observe the effect of ambient temperature change on the flame color of hydrogen fuel. It was found that the flame color of hydrogen containing fuel was generally yellow, and it turned to very light blue (under bright conditions) after reducing the ambient temperature. It was proved that the excited state of water molecules in the combustion process was the important reason for the change of flame color from blue to yellow. The flame color reaction of sodium element was not the only reason for the yellow flame of alcohol lamp. Four kinds of visible spectral lines of hydrogen atom spectrum were observed by accident during the temperature reduction test of flame color of butane spray gun, which provided a reference direction for the future search of this spectral line. The research process can be used as the research material based on the real situation. Through the discovery of problems, the improvement of instruments and the summary of laws, the ability of students to solve real problems by using chemical knowledge can be improved, and the core literacy of students can be cultivated.

In the 18th century,Cavendish discovered hydrogen and thought that it was a compound of water and phlogiston; But Lavoisier who discovered the composition of water thought that hydrogen was an element. By the 19th century, after the establishment of the atomic molecular theory, hydrogen was thought to be a simple substance consisting of diatomic molecule. In the 1930s, the discovery of hydrogen isotope made people have a new understanding of the concept of hydrogen element, and gradually formed the modern concept of hydrogen element. The development history of hydrogen concept is not only the development history of element concept, but also the evolution history of scientific thought and the development scientific method.
