Abstract The “scam” contains a wealth of chemical knowledge. Science popularization workers in colleges and universities can promote the knowledge of chemical science popularization in the process of deciphering these “scams”. This article attempts to establish a new idea of popularizing scientific knowledge of chemistry in the process of deciphering the “scams” by focusing on five problems of the 5W model: “Who will carry out science popularization”, “Who is the target of science popularization”, “How to carry out science popularization”, “What is the content of science popularization” and “What is the effect of science popularization”.The specific methods are as follows: Taking teenagers and the elderly as the key objects of science popularization, constructing a popular science popularization mode of “teachers+students”, paying equal attention to on-site demonstration and explanation, joint communication of new and old media, and evaluation of “effect index system”, so as to achieve the purpose of precision chemistry science popularization.
