The “scam” contains a wealth of chemical knowledge. Science popularization workers in colleges and universities can promote the knowledge of chemical science popularization in the process of deciphering these “scams”. This article attempts to establish a new idea of popularizing scientific knowledge of chemistry in the process of deciphering the “scams” by focusing on five problems of the 5W model: “Who will carry out science popularization”, “Who is the target of science popularization”, “How to carry out science popularization”, “What is the content of science popularization” and “What is the effect of science popularization”.The specific methods are as follows: Taking teenagers and the elderly as the key objects of science popularization, constructing a popular science popularization mode of “teachers+students”, paying equal attention to on-site demonstration and explanation, joint communication of new and old media, and evaluation of “effect index system”, so as to achieve the purpose of precision chemistry science popularization.

Show Abstract ( 46 )
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are introduced as the alternative of the complexes, [Cu(NH3)4]2+ and EDTA-Ca. The rigid structure of the ligands realizes the infinite and porous structure of MOFs. Multi-luminescence is discussed followed single emission. Then, the application of ratiometric fluorescence sensor and visual detection is proposed with multi-emission MOFs as examples. The abundant metal ions and organic ligands as well as the porous structure make MOFs attractive as multi-luminescence probes. Herein the electronic structure and luminescence of lanthanide metals are also mentioned. The ratiometric sensing and visible detection of the targets with MOFs as the probes, especially Ln-MOFs, are discussed. The combination of knowledge points and science frontiers promotes students to understand and master the knowledge. Moreover, the students' interest is stimulated in application of the knowledge to explore the unknown field.

Based on the analysis of some problems existing in analytical chemistry course, this paper studies on the teaching reform of quality assurance and quality control in analytical chemistry under the background of “new subject”, and puts forward the suggestion that the “quality assurance and quality control in analytical chemistry” course or other similar coursesis essentialto students majoringin analytical chemistry. In order to adapt to the development of “new subject”, the teaching of analytical chemistrycourseshould focus on the entire process of analysis, and the theory content of quality assurance should be incorporated into the analysis.Problem identification and problem solvingabilities should be developed by the application of quality assurance and quality control, therefore, great attention must be paid to link theory with practice. In addition, the focus of analytical chemistry is “analysis”, which should maintain close contact with analytical laboratories/testing institutions. Apart from this, education-oriented activities towards marketing and technology should be established, so as to achieve education objectives and train analytical talents that keeping pace with the times.

The data mainly comes from the teaching design and interviews of pre-service teachers, using PCK Map as analysis tools. The study found that after the course teaching, the number of recognizable PCK episodes actively displayed by the pre-service teachers in the instructional design has increased significantly. In addition, all the elements of the PCK of the pre-service teachers have been effectively developed, but the development is not balanced. The development of knowledge of instructional strategies for teaching science is the most well. The development of knowledge of science curriculum and knowledge of student's understanding in science is not perfect, and the development of orientation to teaching science and knowledge of assessment of science learning is relatively weak. In addition, the relationship between the PCK elements of normal students is basically established, but the stability and strength of the relationship are somewhat different.

This paper introduces a case of elementary chemistry teaching for freshmen of non chemistry majors by combining four teaching strategies (context-based teaching, inquiry-based learning, cooperative learning, blended learning). With garbage classification as the theme, students collaborated in groups to complete discovery learning tasks, investigated the chemical elements and their uses in different kinds of garbage, and disseminated the conclusions through three activities: offline classroom display, online achievement sharing and promoting chemical knowledge outside school. Compared with the data collected before and after the activity, 75% of the students only knew the chemical elements in the top 20 of atomic number before the task. After the activity, the number of elements learned by the students increased significantly, the average value was 1.7 times of the original. The confusion of Chinese name and chemical symbol was improved. Finally, a questionnaire showed that the activity had increased the students' enthusiasm in class and helped them understand the chemical elements in life.

Show Abstract ( 30 )
In order to investigate the real effect of chemical laboratory education, a questionaire survey was conducted to explore the laboratory anxiety, safety attitude, safety intention and safety knowledge of undergraduates in Grade 2 in the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Tianjin University of Technology. The results showed that the difference of laboratory anxiety occurred in gender, and females were more anxious than males. Undergraduates who have participated in safety training had more correct attitude towards safety than those who have not. The regression analysis demonstrated that the safety intention was positively correlated with laboratory anxiety, safety attitude and knowledge. Based on the results above, some improvement suggestion were proposed. The undergraduates' psychological security should be focused on and laboratory anxiety should be overcome by emotional counseling. The safety education patterns should be optimized to give full play of students' subjective initiative in the future. Finally, the safety education is also a process of morality education. Through safety education, undergraduates will be cultivated to revere life, responsibility and rules and become qualified practitioners.

Show Abstract ( 29 )
It can be seen from the history of VSEPR model that the hypothesis of “The Cubical Atom” proposed by Lewis in 1916 laid the foundation for the formation of VSEPR model. In 1940, Sidgwick and Powell's hypothesis further promoted the formation of the VSEPR model. In 1957, Gillespie and Nyholm expanded the hypothesis of Sidgwick and Powell, and formally put forward the concept of Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion theory in 1963. To 1988, Gillespie proposed the ligand close packing model (LCP model) to make up for the shortcomings of the VSEPR model. The theory of Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion is a kind theory for qualitative study of molecular structure, which opens up the process of qualitative study of molecular structure by chemists.
