Abstract By digging deep into the cultivating elements of the “chemistry of life” course in higher vocational college, carefully designing teaching contents, and applying a variety of teaching methods of classroom debates of theoretical knowledge teaching, interesting experimental designing and displaying, extracurricular discovering activities of practice in and out of class, the whole process of cultivating students is realized. It demonstrated the effectiveness of public elective course in the cultivating students.
