Abstract Due to the differences in curriculum settings and academic characteristic of students, the PBL teaching mode has its own unique feature in the implementation of chemistry experiment courses in Chinese and American universities. This paper objectively analyzes the differences in the application of the PBL teaching mode in the chemical experiment courses in Chinese and the American universities from four perspectives: teaching material, curriculum assessment, teacher training, research institutions and funding, on this basis, this article proposes that we should treat this difference objectively and fairly, and build cultural confidence.
