Abstract College students’ chemistry competition is not only an effective extension of experimental teaching in class, but also an effective test of the effect of experimental teaching from the perspective of students. By analyzing and comparing the process and effect of students participating in chemical experiment competition, it can effectively promote the reform of chemical experiment teaching, curriculum construction and the cultivation of innovative talents. In recent years, the results of students’ experimental competition in theCollegeof Chemistry of Jilin University have been significantly improved. On the one hand, the chemistry competition can stimulate the enthusiasm of undergraduates for chemistry and chemical research, and increase their subjective initiative in learning; On the other hand, finding problems through competition and promoting experimental teaching reform and curriculum construction in the process of solving problems are more conducive to cultivating students’ innovative consciousness and ability, so as to achieve the purpose of cultivating innovative talents.
