Abstract Taking the inorganic chemistry course reform of chemistry major of Beijing Normal University as an example, this paper discusses the optimization and reform of inorganic chemistry course from the aspects of teaching content, teaching method and curriculum assessment in order to define the teaching objectives, improve the teaching quality, meet the graduation requirements of the chemistry (normal) major, and comprehensively improve the students’ ideological and political quality, professional knowledge and skills, and educational feelings.
