Discussion on the Calculation Formula of Ion Activity Coefficient in Analytical Chemistry Textbooks

Abstract In the chemical equilibrium theory that can deal with electrolyte solution, there are relatively rigorous theoretical formula or empirical formula for the calculation or estimation of the activity and activity coefficient of ions in certain media, while the expression of empirical formula in domestic analytical chemistry textbooks is slightly arbitrary. The paper takes activity calculation of Cl- and Al3+ in 0.050 mol·L-1 in AlCl3 aqueous solution as an example for discussion, combined with the empirical formula of activity coefficient calculation in domestic and foreign analytical chemistry textbooks. According to calculated results, the empirical formula of the activity coefficient calculation needs to be given clear application conditions.
