Abstract It is difficult for medical students to apply chemical knowledge to solve medical problems. In this paper, the medical case “formation and protection of dental caries” would be taken as a starting point to analyze medical principles from the perspective of chemistry. Thereby, the correlation between basic chemistry teaching and medical content has been explored. Employing the integration of chemistry and medical teaching mode could arouse students’ interests in learning chemistry and cultivate students’ ability of thinking, analyzing and solving problems. And it will provide the foundation for cultivating compound medical talents in the new era.
