Abstract Under the perspective of carbon neutrality, the teaching content and training concept of courses offered for students majoring in polymer materials and engineering should be adjusted according to the demand for new talents in the national green and sustainable development strategy. Combined with the characteristics and development direction of polymer materials and engineering specialty, on the basis of strengthening basic theories and knowledge, a series of reforms and explorations have been carried out in various aspects of the courses, such as teaching contents, teaching methods and associated ideological and political education. The curriculum reform will mainly focus on cultivating the students with carbon neutrality concept, innovation consciousness and practical ability, which can improve the quality of talent cultivation in this specialty, and meet the national demand for relevant talents under the carbon neutrality goals.
