This paper discusses the solidification characteristics of natural water, mineral water and purified water from the two aspects of supercooling degrees and freezing point depression. The conclusions are verified by experiments. It is clarified that colligative properties of dilute solutions and the destruction of the hydrogen bonds between water molecules due to hydration of ions (ion-dipole interactions) are the main reasons for changes of freezing points and supercooling degree of drinking water. This paper aims to provide a theoretical reference for the storage of drinking water at low temperatures, and help people correctly understand the solidification properties of water from multiple perspectives and promote their scientific cognition.

Integrating value shaping, knowledge imparting and ability training into education is the fundamental task of curriculum ideological and political education, and is also an inevitable requirement for moral education. In this article, we mainly expound how to innovatively carry out the ideological and political teaching of organic synthesis course from the three-dimensional perspective of “objective-method-evaluation”. We start with the design of the overall course objectives, and construct a target system where the organic synthesis knowledge is corresponded to the civic elements. Additionally, we aim to achieve the organic unity of value guidance, knowledge imparting and ability training innovatively in combination of discussion, inquiry, and practice. Finally, the achievement degree analysis on course objectives is conducted to evaluate the effect of ideological and political education on organic synthesis course.

In China, the correct pronunciation of organic compounds in Chinese is an important basis for education, academic exchange and development of organic chemistry. However, many pictophonetic characters are contained in the Chinese names of organic compounds. Some characters are easy to be misread because they have different tone or pronunciation with their phonetic component. This article summarizes the Chinese professional terminologies for common organic compounds, and annotates them one by one according to Xinhua Dictionary, Chinese Word Dictionary (Cihai) and other reference books. This article can be used as an important reference for chemical workers and beginners.

Show Abstract ( 16 )
From the perspective of green chemistry, we explore the use of a non-toxic organic “n-octadecanol/lauric acid” eutectic system with low melting point near room temperature to improve the experiment of “binary phase diagram construction of simple eutectic system”. By measuring a series of cooling curves of the binary system with various compositions, the phase change temperatures were obtained to plot the liquidus line in the phase diagram. Furthermore, those phase change temperatures were verified by means of differential scanning calorimetry, indicating the above two methods are in good agreement with each other and the feasibility of the proposed binary organic eutectic system. In addition, due to its considerable latent heat of the phase change of higher aliphatic alcohol/acid system, the binary system shows great promise as room-temperature phase change energy storage material. Thus, the proposed experiment based on the organic eutectic system, while making green chemical improvement to the experiment, can also help students understand the prospect technology of phase change material and the latent heat thermal energy storage.
