Abstract The comprehensive experiment of one-pot total synthesis of Evodiamine from readily available substrates is designed based on the theoretical knowledge of total synthesis of natural products. The experiment includes four parts: Background literature investigation and analysis, one-pot total synthesis of Evodiamine, structural characterization and mechanism study. Students’ comprehensive quality in literature retrieval, experiment operation, and spectra analysis will be trained in this experiment. Moreover, this experiment can significantly improve the students’ understanding of organic synthesis and mechanism study, and further improve their cognition about the logic of scientific research. This experiment will lay a foundation for students to engage in relevant scientific research or practical work in the future.
