Abstract The teaching objectives of discipline core competencies is advancing steadily, but there is a lack of realistic reflection on the normal teaching objectives of chemistry in senior high school. Based on the teaching objectives analysis of 23 normal lessons of 9 senior high school chemistry teachers, it is found that the teaching objectives of normal lessons of senior high school chemistry present two characteristics. First, it mainly involves the quality of thinking level, but the quality of practice level and value level is insufficient. Second, the competencies levels involved are mainly level 1 and level 2, while the high-level competencies are less involved. Compared with the objectives in the curriculum standard and textbook, the objectives in the actual class have deviation. It is mainly reflected in the lack of practice level and value level in class, among which “inquiry innovation” “social responsibility” and “scientific attitude” are the most serious. It is suggested that teachers should establish a complete view of discipline core competencies, and consciously infiltrate competencies goals in class.
