Abstract Based on the theory of outcome-based education, combining with practice in teaching English for chemical engineering in recent years, this paper summarized and analyzed the exploration and practice of the relevant teaching reform of the course. Through the reform measures of curriculum resource construction, course teaching organization, course grade evaluation methods, the students' interest in learning has been stimulated. It also enlivens the classroom atmosphere, cultivates students' independent learning ability, then the coordination and unification of education and teaching are achieved, which provides reference for our peers.
