Vitamin, a well-known name, is closely related to body metabolism as one of the six major nutrients. Although the human body only needs to consume trace amounts of vitamins every day, as a coenzyme or cofactor, it is involved in many physiological activities of the human body, such as glucose metabolism, fatty acid synthesis, and genetic material construction, etc., which is essential for maintaining the normal life function of the human body. Based on the molecular structure and chemical properties of vitamins, this paper comprehensively expounds the essence of vitamins necessary for human body.

As a basic course for chemical engineering majors, unit operations of chemical engineering play a vital role in cultivating professional talents. At present, it's hard to cultivate the innovative and excellent engineering talents, especially lay a foundation for students' engineering thinking and engineering ability, in the new era with the traditional teaching method. Based on the teaching concept of “knowledge-ability-value shaping”, the course team has built a hybrid teaching mode of “project introduction before class-project practice during class-project expansion after class” with engineering projects as the main line. By reshaping the teaching content of “four fusions”, reconstructing the teaching environment, optimizing online and offline teaching resources, building special teaching materials with a new engineering background, and improving the diversified assessment and evaluation mechanism, the team has deepened the course reform comprehensively. Accordingly, the course reform has achieved a series of achievements and enhanced the students' knowledge acquisition ability, higher-order thinking, engineering practice, and innovative ability as well as engineering literacy. It can be a reference for the teaching reform of similar professional courses.

The nomenclature of organic compounds, especially the naming of complex drug molecules, often requires indication of the extra hydrogen and added hydrogen. Their use in Chinese is regulated by the principles for naming organic compounds in the book Nomenclature of Organic Compounds 2017 (CCS 2017), but few specific rules for use and operational examples in it. Based on CCS 2017 and combined with Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry: IUPAC Recommendations and Preferred Names 2013 (IUPAC 2013) and Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China 2020, the concrete implications of extra hydrogen and added hydrogen were explained in detail. The general usage rules and methods for them were illustrated and summarized through the naming of some specific examples. Furthermore, the naming conventions for extra hydrogen and added hydrogen in above three nomenclatures were compared, and their inconsistencies and differences were distinguished. Some suggestions about the application of CCS 2017 principles to the chemical names of drugs were proposed as well.

Based on the theory of outcome-based education, combining with practice in teaching English for chemical engineering in recent years, this paper summarized and analyzed the exploration and practice of the relevant teaching reform of the course. Through the reform measures of curriculum resource construction, course teaching organization, course grade evaluation methods, the students' interest in learning has been stimulated. It also enlivens the classroom atmosphere, cultivates students' independent learning ability, then the coordination and unification of education and teaching are achieved, which provides reference for our peers.

This paper focuses on the “nitrogen group elements” and explores the teaching design and practice cases with the chapter as a unit. (1) We reconstructed the teaching content and reorganized the content system according to the material category. Herein, we focused on analyzing the variability and regularity of different elements in the same kind of materials and the correlation among different substances of the same element. We introduced the latest research results and social production applications into teaching, which improved the knowledge system and enhanced the systematization, frontier and application of curriculum contents. (2) We integrated the values education through curriculum and put forward the implementation measures and suggestions for the curriculum and values education at the same time. After learning this chapter, the students are expected to gain basic knowledge as well as scientific spirit, scientific vision, scientific thinking, application awareness, and innovation development. (3) We carried out online and offline blended teaching mode, and used PBL (problem-based learning) teaching method to improve the proactivity of students in learning and promote the teaching effect of the course, so as to effectively realize the curriculum goal of “knowledge-ability-quality integration”.

The preparation and composition determination of tetraamminecopper(Ⅱ) sulfate monohydrate(Cu(NH3)4SO4·H2O) is an important comprehensive chemical experiment. However, there were insufficient references and reports on its thermal weight loss in removing water and ammonia. It is difficult to judge the corresponding reaction of each weight-loss platform only by thermogravimetric and differential thermal curves due to the molar mass of NH3 and H2O were very close. Therefore, hyphenated technology of thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) and thermogravimetric-Fourier transform infrared radiation-mass spectrometry (TG-FTIR-MS) were applied to analyze Cu(NH3)4SO4·H2O, which clarified the chemical changes of Cu(NH3)4SO4·H2O during the process of temperature rise, promoted the students' analysis capability on thermal analysis curve and enriched the content of Cu(NH3)4SO4·H2O experiment project. Meanwhile, a new substance that might exist but without available realistic report was proposed through interpreting the thermal analysis curve, which worth to study more.

The application of scientific research results of self-healable polyurethane based on the reversible Diels-Alder bond to the undergraduate teaching experiments helps students to understand the frontier progress of intrinsic self-healing polymers and improve their interests and cognition in the field of polymer chemistry. This experimental project covers the teaching content of polycondensation reaction, crosslinking and stress-strain behavior of polymer. Through this experiment, it not only strengthens the students' basic knowledge, but also enhances the students' ability to conduct literature research, analyze and solve problems.

In order to meet the requirements of engineering certification education for the cultivation of students' practical ability, a comprehensive experiment of “rapid synthesis and electrochemical performance of NMV polyoxometalates(POMs) under alcohol reagent” was designed in the experiment of energy and chemical engineering specialty. The experimental contents include the rapid synthesis, structural characterization and electrochemical performance test of NMV POMs. Students are required to understand the synthesis process and conditions of NMV POMs through literature review, design the synthesis scheme of NMV POMs, master the characterization methods such as X-ray diffraction, X-ray single crystal diffraction, thermogravimetry and the electrochemical performance test methods of NMV, and analyze and summarize the experimental data. In addition, an assessment system that takes into account both the process and the results is established to comprehensively examine the students' comprehensive practical ability through the links of experimental scheme design, experimental process operation and experimental report writing. The experimental teaching design reflects the dominant position of students. Through this teaching practice, students' practical ability, thinking ability and practical ability are not only improved, but also their innovative thinking is cultivated.

RTOP is a classroom observation tool created by the Arizona Teacher Collaboration, which is used to observe and evaluate the teaching effect of teachers in the classroom. In this paper, the RTOP tool is used to conduct a total of 20 trial classes for 17 masters of chemistry education in a normal university and three masters of chemistry education who have won the first prize in the National Competition. The classroom observation is carried out in three dimensions: teaching design and implementation, teaching content and classroom culture. The results show that the RTOP tool has a good degree of differentiation in the evaluation of teaching effect of master of education, which can directly reflect the difference of classroom performance of master of education at different levels. It is found that the performance of the master of chemistry education in the university still needs to be improved in encouraging students to seek multiple ways to solve problems, guiding students to make predictions, hypotheses and design test methods, and guiding students to reflect and evaluate.

Based on CNKI database from 2001 to 2021, the articles about chemistry education and teaching in the vocational education were statistically analyzed. Through keywords co-occurrence and timezone analysis, the research hotspot and trend of this field are grasped from the whole. Combined with the analysis of the research content, this paper discusses the research progress in this field from three aspects: the research on specialty construction and curriculum reform, the research on reform of teacher, teaching material, teaching method, and the research on student and core literacy, and puts forward some enlightenment.

Marxist philosophy is a set of advanced scientific thinking system and has dual characteristics of moral education and promoting teaching. In this paper, we infiltrate some most basic, universal viewpoints and methods in Marxist philosophy, such as “see the nature of problems through phenomenon”, “things are universal” and “things are constantly developing”, into the teaching of medical basic chemistry course to cultivate students thinking habit of exploring the essence, systematic thinking and scientific learning methods, questioning spirit and innovative consciousness by solving the doubtful point, key point, and pain point problems to improve students' professional learning ability. The results of teaching feedback indicate that infiltrating philosophical thought is helpful to promote the teaching quality and achieve effective unification of moral education and teaching promotion.

Chem 3D and Discovery Studio were introduced into the course of medicinal chemistry, and their effects on improving the learning of medicinal chemistry were investigated by contrast method. The results show that the introduction of the two software in the course of medicinal chemistry can improve students' interest in learning and test scores. This study provides a reference for the development of diversified teaching methods.

It is difficult for engineering college students to understand and solve practical engineering problems by using chemical knowledge, in order to solve this problem, here “corrosion and prevention of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge” in traffic construction is taken as the cut-in point of teaching to reveal the chemical principle and chemical innovation lied in the super engineering. Exploring the new lecture mode of general chemistry, which integrates engineering cases, curriculum politics and chemistry theory teaching. The teaching practice indicates that this new mode not only enhance students' interests in learning chemistry effectively, but also help raise students' ability to think, analyze and solve problems by using theoretical knowledge. It lays a foundation for training talents who can adapt to and even lead the future engineering needs under the new engineering background.

This experiment is proposed for the rapid and visual inspection of nitrate ion at the scene of the explosion case, which solves the problems of high toxicity, slow response speed of Griss reagent and inconvenience of carrying the existing instrument analysis methods in the Micro Material Evidence Analysis Experiment. 8-hydroxyquinoline is used to replace carcinogenic α- naphthylamine or naphthalene ethylenediamine hydrochloride, 4-aminobenzoic acid replaces p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid; Manganese sulfate, as a catalyst, can form a complex with 8-hydroxyquinoline to improve the speed of azo reaction. With obvious visual color change (colorless to orange red), qualitative and semi quantitative analysis of nitrate ions in the residues at the scene of explosion cases can be achieved.

In this paper, with the help of computational chemistry and analytical methods, a practical teaching scheme for revealing the regioselectivity mechanism of the DA reaction between 2-methyl-1,3-butadiene and acrylic acid was designed based on the frontier molecular orbital and transition state theories. In this scheme, a series of computational chemistry experimental operations and analyses were conducted for students to obtain intuitive dynamic images and quantitative data. These images and data can be used as a basis to vividly describe the regioselectivity mechanism and dynamic structural change process of DA reaction. Thus, performing this teaching scheme should be helpful for students to strengthen their perceptual knowledge and understanding of related theories, and develop the core literacy of evidence reasoning and model cognition, so as to achieve the purpose of scientific research feeding back teaching.

The singlet oxygen as one of important reactive oxygen species (ROS) plays an important role in many fields, such as combustion, medicine, biology, and materials science. The introduction of electronic structure of singlet oxygen is an important issue in the class of Photochemistry and Quantum Chemistry. In this paper, the electronic structure of singlet oxygen will be studied by point group theory and high-level ab initio quantum chemical calculations, and the results suggest that the first excited state of O2 corresponds to the Δg state with an open-shell and a closed-shell components. This work will help students to understand the relationship between the electronic structure and the wavefunction for the oxygen molecule.

σ-migration reactions are the important teaching content in basic chemistry courses for undergraduate chemistry majors, and the regioselectivity of the reactions is a key point to teaching and learning. In this paper, the H[1,j] σ migration reactions of a pentadiene derivative and their regioselectivity are discussed. Based on the Hückel molecular orbital method, the energy levels and molecular orbitals of π electrons in the simplest 4n+1 and 4n-1 linear conjugated systems are derived, which rationalizes the regioselectivity of the H[1,j] σ migrations of the pentadiene derivative under heating and light conditions. The structures and relative energies of the transition states of 1,3- and 1,5-H migrations of the pentadiene derivative are calculated by performing density functional theory calculations, and the calculated results verify that the pentadiene derivative prefers to perform the 1,5-H migration rather than the 1,3-H migration.

At the end of the 18th century, with the development of analytical chemistry, scientists successively studied the newly discovered mineral “petalite”. In the early of the 19th century, Swedish chemist Arfwedson found that the mineral contained a fixed component with unknown properties. He was aware of the existence of a new element and put forward a hypothesis about lithium. In 1818, British chemist David prepared metal lithium by electrolysis for the first time, and the lithium hypothesis was confirmed. In the early of 20th century, the discovery of lithium isotopes made people have a new understanding of the concept of lithium. In short, with the continuous development of scientific thoughts and methods, the connotation of the concept of lithium is also developing and changing.
