Abstract As one of the most effective means to build carbon-carbon bonds, the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction has a wide range of applications in the fields of pharmacy, catalysis, and advanced material preparation. A comprehensive and innovative experiment in organic chemistry was introduced in this article: applying Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction to explore the kinetics of organic reaction, clarify the effects of the concentration of various substances on the reaction rate, explain the chemical reaction mechanism more closely. The comprehensive experimental project is helpful to deepen students’ understanding of the mechanism of Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction, stimulate students’ interests in scientific research on chemical kinetics, improve students’ practical level in anhydrous-oxygen-free operation and instrumental analysis, also cultivate students’ innovative spirit.
