Abstract In response to the shortcomings of ethanol catalytic oxidation experiments in the textbook, improvements have been made to the experiments in the textbook. This paper conducts experiments using cotton swabs dripped with Schiff reagent, copper sheets, and short necked funnels. The improved experiment conforms to the principles of scientificity, safety, practicality and economy.
