Abstract Practical teaching link is an effective means to enhance the comprehensive quality of engineering students, and an important way for local universities to achieve industry-education integration. Ensuring and improving the quality of practical teaching and deeply integrating it with local industries are fundamental tasks for local universities. This paper delves into the “four difficulties” in the practical teaching of the Resource Recycling Science and Engineering program at Shangluo University. Through optimizing and integrating on-campus practical teaching resources, collaborating to build off-campus practical teaching bases, jointly creating a practical education curriculum system, and solidly promoting the “integration of internship and employment,” practical teaching reform has been comprehensively promoted. This reform has improved the quality of applied talent cultivation, promoted the sustainable development of local economies, and demonstrated the significant value of local universities and related industries.
