Abstract Based on the perspective of reverse thinking and focusing on the teaching practice of the course “Principles of Materials Composite”, from the perspective of enterprise integrated product development, the complex engineering problem of “overall material design” is decomposed into a hierarchical project capability chain and reverse matched with the principle content chain. Through teaching activities and evaluations such as pre class case preview and preview grades, 9 pairs of “paired bases” are formed to connect the double strands corresponding to the course objectives, corresponding to 9 teaching objectives, achieving a virtuous and progressive succession of “activity evaluation improvement”. The value goal ensures the right-handed direction of the double strands and continuously improves the ability to solve complex engineering problems. At the same time, this course provides a good reference for other engineering theoretical courses.
