Abstract This research focuses on general chemistry teaching.Taking the knowledge of buffer solutions as the starting point of teaching,a group science popularization video production activity was carried out.By guiding students to complete links such as literature review,experimental design and operation,video production,and classroom presentation and sharing,it effectively improves students’ understanding and application ability of chemical knowledge,stimulates their innovative thinking and practical ability,and enhances teamwork and communication.The videos produced by students have achieved remarkable results both in and out of the classroom.Some works have won awards in science popularization video competitions.This study elaborates on the background of teaching reform,teaching design,practice process,and feedback effects in detail,providing useful examples and experience for the reform of general chemistry teaching.
