Abstract When the laboratory uses copper and concentrated nitric acid to prepare NO2, the generated water easily dilutes concentrated nitric acid, leading to the product of NO2 containing with NO. In order to solve this problem, high purity NO2 was prepared by experiments with a drop-type gas generator. The experimental method was simple and safe to operate, and could control the gas production speed and preparation amount.
