Abstract Under the background of the “New Normal Teacher Education” model, chemistry teacher education is undergoing transformation, emphasizing the comprehensive development of students and the transformation of the teacher's role, with the aim of cultivating teachers who possess the ability to nurture students through their subject, carry on the legacy of science, and have a sense of social responsibility. This research explores the significance of chemical philosophy in the chemistry teacher education within the “New Normal Teacher Education” , highlighting the importance of understanding chemistry from a philosophical perspective to deepen our knowledge and comprehension of the world. The author employs the dialectical materialist mode of thinking, using Linus Pauling's Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Peace Prize as examples to analyze the unique philosophical perspective of chemistry. Under the guidance of philosophical thinking, we will cultivate the chemical thinking of teacher trainees, promote the spirit of chemistry, and facilitate the healthy development of chemistry teacher education in the “new teacher training” program.
