Abstract Medical chemistry plays an important role in medical-related majors.In order to enable students to learn and master the knowledge of medical chemistry better,the student-centered teaching design and practice of alcohols and phenols in medical chemistry have been implemented.The learning interest and subjective initiative of students are enhanced by problem-based teaching,multimedia experimental teaching and group discussion in teaching design.Moreover,the scientific thinking and correct values(view of life,values and science)of students have been established by ideological and political education.
