Abstract The traditional teaching method of physical chemistry is not effective due to the complexity and abstraction of teaching content, which inspires us to apply Sandwich teaching method to physical chemistry of pharmacy. The teaching design and process of surface tension were described in detail in this paper. This teaching method was performed with the aim to motivate students and improve their abilities of expression and communication as well as abilities to analyze and solve problems.
