Abstract This paper introduced three strategies about teacher-oriented topic-discussion in key teachers training. Open-minded discussion could provide experience sharing; comparison of different textbooks could stimulate creative teaching; model essays discussing was leading the trainees to carry out action research. Topic-discussion was according with the adult mental characteristics in education, and would help teachers to reflect and break through their "plateau phase" of development.
