Abstract This paper described the exploration and construction of the evaluation system in inorganic chemistry experiment in university of science and technology of China, which included scientific, reasonable and hierarchical regular assessment, midterm examination and final examination. This evaluation system features the combination of various assessments, including formative assessment combined with summative assessment, written report combined with operation assessment, basic operation combined with design research experiment. This evaluation system was not only able to make an overall evaluation of students' experimental abilities, but could also effectively improve the teaching quality.
