Abstract In order to optimize the teaching design of the properties of sulfur dioxide and improve teaching effect, from the life contexts, this paper carried out the experimental inquiry activities by using the microscale experiment apparatus and substitutes from life, guided students to understand the nature and characteristics of acidic oxides of sulfur dioxide and both oxidation and reduction, to construct a more complete knowledge system of sulfur dioxide. This paper also developed students' learning interests, environmental protection consciousness and dialectical materialism.
