Abstract The students of grade 2012 and grade 2013 were selected as the experimental subjects, and the experimental group was treated with the model-assisted teaching, and the control group was conducted with the normal teaching. The result showed that the experimental group behaved better than the control group, which indicated that model-assisted teaching could improve preservice chemistry teachers' experimental demonstration skill significantly.
