Abstract The teaching mode of flipped classroom and cooperative learning has promoting effect in cultivating students' active learning and creative ability. Based on the information retrieval course and modern college student analysis, combined with the status of chemical information retrieval course for university, taking NoteFirst literature management software application as an example, the introduction of flipped classroom and group cooperative learning mode, we designed the teaching model and teaching process, so as to cultivate the students' information management and utilization ability.
