Abstract The chess game for chemical terms learning was developed on the platform of VC++6.0 by using the MFC framework, it was the integration of knowledge, fun, challenge and expandability, and it had the advantages of brief interface, simple operation and fine practicability. In the process of playing chess, the system could automatically judge whether the move, the capture or the entered chemical equation was right or not. In the system, there were three function buttons including "Start" "Takeback"and "Exit", a menu bar and a time showing textbox. With the help of this system, students felt less bored and improved their learning efficiency of chemical terms. Besides, it strengthened communication and cooperation among students and organically blended games and chemical terms teaching.
