Abstract This paper used multifunctional combination U-tube to design an innovative experiment, exploring the factors affecting chemical reaction rate, which improved students' experimental ability and enhanced learning interest. Under the guidance of WWHW epistemological thinking model, this teaching design helped students construct the relevant knowledge about chemical reaction rate by themselves, and deepened their understanding of knowledge and scientific nature of chemical reaction rate.
