Abstract This paper prepared a novel kind of injectable hydrogels with fast-curing rate under catalysis of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and H2O2, in which gelators were synthesized by esterification of polyethylene glycol (PEG,Mn=2000) and p-hydroxyphenyl-propionic acid(DAT). The effects of the concentration of HRP, gelators and H2O2on gelation time were studied, results showed that higher concentrations of gelators and HRP, lower concentrations of H2O2 resulted in shorter gelation time; the shortest time was 3 second. The structure of gelators was characterized by FTIR and H-NMR measurements. The mechanism of free radical polymerization of gelators in the presence of HRP/H2O2 was proposed.
