Abstract By analyzing the equilibrium relationship of neutral amino acids with different conformations at isoelectric point, this paper proved mathematically its characteristics of the maximum amphoteric ion concentration, maximum distribution coefficient, and the minimum solubility at a given temperature. These features were reinforced by the distribution coefficient and the solubility diagram of relevant amino acids with different conformations in solution. This paper also interpreted the separation of amino acids in the Organic Chemistry Basis published by Jiangsu Education Press.
