Abstract In this article, we first summarized the challenges in instrument analysis teaching and the current development of teaching methods in chemical education. Based on the analysis, the viewpoint to integrate ideas from different subjects and fields to benefit the innovation in science education is proposed, and an example of GFAAS teaching using information theory is illustrated. The aim of this article is to open teachers' mind and to inspire ideas for the development of chemical education and science education.
