Abstract Interactive response system in inorganic chemistry teaching was introduced aiming at solving the problems existing in basic inorganic chemistry teaching. This paper mainly introduced the application of interactive teaching system in several ways, such as the design of teaching procedure, the interactive teaching mode, the post-tests and the course summary. The interactive response teaching mode played an important role in promoting the teaching of inorganic chemistry. The average attendance rate was 99% during the semester. More than 95% of students believed that this interactive approach could enliven the classroom and stimulate learning interests, and they were willing to accept this interactive teaching mode based on classroom voting devices.
