Abstract Combined with the practice of bilingual teaching of inorganic chemistry, the infiltration of International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) problems during the teaching process was put forward aiming at mastering the solutions of IChO problems, which is a kind of teaching method based on problem situation. It can stimulate students' interests in learning, training the students' logical and illogical thoughts and reading and understanding ability of English. It was verified by the final examination results that the introduction of the IChO problems was beneficial to the improvement of the students' professional vocabulary accumulation and knowledge acquisition of inorganic chemistry. Thus, it is worth popularizing in normal colleges and universities.
