Abstract Electroplating experiment is an important case of the application of electrolysis principle. Through experiments, not only qualitative sensibility recognition, but also quantitative rational data should be obtained. In this paper, the effects of copper ion concentration, pH, electrolysis time, electrolysis voltage and electrolysis temperature on the properties of plating thickness, uniformity and compactness were investigated for electroplating copper experiments. The mechanism of formation was analyzed on the basis of the electrolysis principle and determined the suitable operating conditions for electroplating copper. It also provided reference cases and research ideas for students to carry out electroplating experiments.
