Abstract A comprehensive experiment of physical chemistry was introduced to measure and calculate the vapor-liquid equilibrium and chemical kinetics of the sodium lysine-CO2 system, which is related to two chapters, phase equilibrium and chemical kinetics, in the course of physical chemistry. L-Lysine, sodium hydroxide, and CO2 were used in this experiment, including the operations of reagent preparing, gas absorption, and data acquisition. Phaseequilibriumparameters (temperature, pressure, and solubility) and chemical kinetics properties (apparent rate constant) were calculated and analyzed, to improve the operation ability of students, enhance their understanding of the course knowledge, and inspire their exploration on scientific research.
