Abstract Using Flow Map structure analysis method, this paper mainly focused on the measurement and comparison of the content of “ionic reaction” in three senior high school chemistry textbooks including new textbook of people's education press, new textbook of Shandong science and technology press and old textbook of people's education press. It was found that the new textbooks changed in the introduction, engagement and organization of core concepts. The new textbook of people's education press presented the knowledge structure system of “ionic reaction” with richer level, more reasonable organization and fuller meaning and paid more attention to the application of situational reasoning and interpretive representation strategy, creating reasonable situations, containing problems in situations and forming concepts in the process of solving problems. The new textbook of Shandong science and technology press focused on the triple representation of macro-micro-symbol, highlighting the representation strategy of comparison, and showing students the multiple paths and dimensions to grasp the concept connotation and application.
