Abstract Chemistry textbook is an important carrier and resource platform for developing students' core literacy in chemistry in high school. The general high school chemistry compulsory textbook published by people's education press is used as an analytical text, which is based on the General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standard (2017 Edition). This paper focuses on the analysis of its presentation from the perspective of column system, image system and exercise system. The specific characteristics are as follows:column system strengthens functionality, image system highlights intuitiveness, exercise system embodies pertinence,situationality and openness,in order to play an active role in effectively using of textbooks and developing chemistry core literacy for chemistry teachers in high school.
