Abstract There are complicated relations among concentrations, pressures, amount of substance and conversion ratios for complex chemical equilibrium, which bring great difficulties to solve these problems. This paper presents a general method of five steps which includes listing, assuming unknown number, calculating pressures, calculating equilibrium constants and solving to solve problems. Two problems related to chemical equilibrium appeared in recent years' Chemical Olympiad are carefully analyzed using this method with application of CASIO calculator's unique function.
