Abstract The development and application of a modular self-assembly high efficiency capillary electrophoresis teaching instrument in experimental teaching are reported. We elaborated and discussed the structural design, instrument assembly and fabrication, working principle and teaching application of this teaching instrument. Compared with the commercial instrument used in the current teaching, this teaching instrument is simple, intuitive, modular, self-assembling, low-cost, and easy to promote. It can effectively link theoretical knowledge to the corresponding practical curriculum. The students can not only understand the structure and function through manual assembly, but also master the separation principle and be familiar with the operation of the instrument, which achieves the purpose of improving teaching effect and cultivating students’ comprehensive ability.
