Abstract The operational skills in general chemistry laboratory experiments have more contents and stronger foundation, also most difficulty in teaching. In order to improve the teaching effect and promote the construction and development of general chemistry laboratory experiments teaching resources, a series of micro-videos about the operational skills are designed. The production process of micro-video is introduced in details. A teaching method based on micro-video can effectively compensate for the disadvantages of traditional experimental teaching, enhance the accuracy of teaching, inspire the students’ initiative, improve the teaching effect and promote the reform of teaching mode. Results may provide a reference to the reformation of chemistry experimental teaching. The micro-videos can be applied in other universities due to short content, high definition and extensive applicability.
