Abstract The outcome-oriented syllabus of polymer chemistry has been constructed based on the core concepts of engineering education accreditation. Unlike that of traditional syllabus, the objectives of this course are to enable students to deduce, elaborate, analyze and study complex engineering issues in the field of polymer materials, reflecting the philosophy of keeping it student-centered, outcome-oriented and continuous improved. The teaching content of the course includes both knowledge points and competency requirements, emphasizing the supporting relationship between curriculum knowledge and students' ability. As for the course assessment, it puts forward making modular assessment and scoring standards in terms of corresponding course goal, which meets the requirements of the engineering accreditation: being measureable and practical.
