Abstract University chemistry as a general course plays an important role in training the scientific literacy in chemistry. According to the requirements of “New Engineering” and the characteristics of large-class teaching, the author proposes to a strategy named “role of identification” in teaching university chemistry. This method not only stimulates students to learn chemistry, but also builds positive teacher-student relationships for effective classroom management.
