Abstract The strategy on developing a quality workforce to accelerate the work to build China into a major world center of professional talent and innovation requires the comprehensive training of postgraduate students. Facing the current situation that postgraduate students are under various pressures and psychological issues, we should pay attention not only to the cultivation of postgraduates’ scientific research ability, but also to the development of their mental health. This article discusses the psychological stress of postgraduate students in the College of Chemistry, Jilin University. According to the method of positive psychology, several measures have been taken to relieve the psychological pressure and to promote the psychological health of postgraduate students in the College.
