Abstract In order to cultivate creative talents, a verification-exploration two segment teaching mode is developed on the experimental teaching of physical chemistry. The extension is carried out on the basis of retaining the original confirmatory experiment. In this paper, the influence of the concentration of catalyst and substrate on the iodide modified BZ oscillating system was investigated,The standard curve of Rhodamine B was drawn to determine the content of Rhodamine B in food. Compared with traditional verification experiments, the two-stage teaching mode is easier to be combined in class and after class. The reformed mode can not only train the basic experimental skills of physical chemistry, but also facilitate the cultivation of students’ independent innovative ability and scientific research ability.
