Abstract Analyzing the teaching subject and content and the current teaching situation, this paper puts forward teaching ideas and creative thoughts. “Beijing Winter Olympics” is set as the main clue, and the contents related to energy, materials and environmental pollution prevention in Chapter Nine are intrinsically linked. The review consists of three main parts: clean energy supporting “Green Winter Olympics”, new materials helping with “Science Winter Olympics” and anti-fouling technology guarding “ Clean Winter Olympics”. It motivates students to improve knowledge system, to foster the core competence of “scientific attitude and responsibility” and to reflect on classroom instruction.
